Hello my spooky babies! These past few weeks, I have been finding it really hard to find the motivation to write up reviews. I am so sorry to all two of you who even read my blog. But, I am finally back and ready to serve up some content up for you! As you already know, I typically only read horror and thriller books. But I decided it was time for me to venture out and try something new. And that something is dark romance. NEVER in a million years did I think I would read any sort of romance books. I usually hate them. But holy shit. Dark romance is its own animal. Full of dark topics, delicious and graphic sex, and intense stories, dark romance truly found a way to my heart. So, let's discuss shall we?
Adeline Reilly is a 26 year old successful writer who inherited Parsons Manor, a gothic home in the woods on a cliff. After a failed one night stand, she uncovers her great grandmothers aka Gigi's diary. Knowing her great grandmother was murdered and the case went unsolved, she decides to read the journal and try to piece together who may have done it. But while reading the journal, Addie learns that her and her grandmother are much more similar than she ever thought. Especially when it comes to stalkers... Cue Zade.
Zade just happened to be in the right place at the right time after one of his missions. He encounters Addie while she is at a book signing and realizes that he needs her in his life. Being the leader of one of the most infamous activist organizations that takes down child traffickers, Zade is no stranger to technology and using it to get what he wants. Therefore, using it to claim Addie as his own, while hiding in the shadows.
Y'all... When I tell you I found my new favorite book/series, I meant it. Although the book was incredibly long, I could not put it down. The murder mystery, the stalking, the sex, and the sprinkle of ghosts made this the perfect book. I was so hot and bothered the whole time. I literally fell in love with Zade, even though he stalked Addie... Please don't judge me. I don't know what it is but man, he is sexy. Aside from the spice in the book, the story was incredibly good. You can't help but admire Z and what he does to help those that are trafficked by high society people. It honestly gave me Anonymous vibes, with the way things are handled in the book, but with a lot more murder. After reading this book, I knew I needed more. So I immediately read the second one and loved it just the same, if not more!
